Breathtaking Gumasa

I asked my husband if we could go somewhere because I want to relax. I want to stay overnight in the beach. So, he took us to this beautiful beach resort in Gumasa. It’s part of the province of Saranggani in the Philippines and is located in the Soccsksargen region. All I can say is: GUMASA IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

The white sand beach is so clean and clear and most of all, it’s not over populated! When we came around 10:00am at the resort, it’s like we got the whole resort to ourselves! But in the afternoon, people are slowly coming in. But still, it’s not over crowded.

There are other resorts in Gumasa but we stayed at the Rosal beach resort. It’s between  White Haven and Coco Beach Resort. The whole resort is beautiful and quite affordable! The staffs are nice and the air conditioned room is good too. It has clean beds/bedsheets, it has a kettle so you can have hot water whenever you need one and it has a balcony with partial sea view. Breakfast is included in the rate but the menu is limited. The food is good – not great but it’s good. When we visited the resort, there was no television yet. I think the whole idea is to just relax and get away from the qualms of the world. Well, I’m a TV person, so I need to have something to watch while in the room. Fortunately, I brought my laptop so we were able to watch some movies. But I heard they now have television with 4 channels and a fridge too.

Here are some photos of the Rosal Beach Resort and see for yourself how great the place is:

Just a friendly tip. They will charge you with P2800 for cottages in the beach front and just P2000 for the regular cottage (merely 10m difference). They will also ask you to deposit 1000 pesos just in case you break something – they will return that P1000 when you check out. There is no WiFi, so you have to bring your own pocket wifi. No lifeguard, so don’t take your eyes off your children. They will charge you P400 for every additional person. Our room costs P2800 (good for 2 persons only). We were 4 – My husband, me and my 2 small kids. As you can see in the picture, we can all fit in the bed. But they still charged us with additional P800 for the 2 extra person. I asked them not to charge us with P800 since we can all fit in the bed because my kids are still young and small (5/yo & 7y/o), but they did not allow us. If they charged us with the additional P800, they should have given us 2 extra beds/beddings, but they did not. I did not bother to ask for it because I do not want to have those 2 extra beds get crowded in our room.

But overall, I still love the place and will be coming back – SOON! =)
